Johnny Manziel’s domestic violence case has taken the next step, as it will be headed to a grand jury.
Before anyone worries where Johnny Manziel will be playing his football in the NFL next season, he must first take care of his pending legal issues. On Thursday, an announcement was made that let everyone know that he’s not out of hot water yet.
The Dallas Police Department has finished their investigation into the issue that allegedly took place between Manziel and his ex-girlfriend back in January, and they have announced that the case will now be headed to a grand jury to determine whether or not the former Heisman winner will be formally charged or not.

Manziel’s incident on the table here has been classified as a Class A Misdemeanor, which could carry him some jail time in the state of Texas if he is indeed convicted. At the moment, there is no timetable for when exactly charges could be brought, but that’s something we should know within the next few weeks.
This incident took place back on January 30 when police were called to an apartment complex of a 23-year-old woman who noted that she had been involved in an assault with her ex-boyfriend, Manziel. From there, things got a little more wild when it was found out that there were actually helicopters looking for the Browns quarterback. However, through all of this thus far, Manziel has not been arrested.
It’s expected that the Browns will released Manziel in March when the new NFL year begins and, again, that seems to be the least of his worries at the moment.
