Barcelona has locked up one of the best players on the squad, as Neymar will be sticking around for a while.

Barcelona is undoubtedly the most dangerous soccer team on the planet right now, and a lot of that of course has to do with the play of Neymar. While Lionel Messi gets a lot of the attention, there’s no questioning that Neymar is also one of the most talented players walking the earth right now.

And now, he’s one of the richest as well.

According to ESPN Brazil, Neymar inked a new five-year deal with the club that will lock him up through the 2021 season. As for the financials? Well, Neymar will reportedly be earning himself somewhere in the area of $220,000 and $275,000 per week, which makes him the second highest paid player on the squad next to — you guessed it, Messi.

Also, this deal was done back in December, but due to the tax issues that the star was facing in both Spain and Brazil, neither the club nor he could make an announcement of this nature. But now they could, and it’s safe to say that Barcelona supporters are pretty happy at the moment.

So with Neymar now locked up, you;d have to think that the club will now turn their attention to Messi this summer and upgrading his deal, keeping the talented duo together for much longer.

This season in La Liga, Neymar has scored 18 goals and he has 23 overall throughout all competition.
