Antonio Conte is expected to sign a three-year deal to become Chelsea’s new manager this Summer.

It has been the news that everyone has been waiting for. There has been much talk over the past week or so about who Roman Abramovich will choose to be the next long-term manager of Chelsea football club, and it looks as though he’s made his decision. Antonio Conte is that man, per Sky Sports.

Conte is a well respected manager around the continent, having had great success with Juventus in recent seasons, leading them to an undefeated Serie A title and he has also built a decent team with the Italian national squad. His contract with the Italian FA runs out after Euro 2016 which allows him to freely move on to another role.

It has been an odd season for Chelsea. They started the year under the guidance of their hero Jose Mourinho. However, things quickly turned sour from their Premier League-winning season last year and Mourinho was eventually sacked as manager in December, just one place above the relegation zone.

Guus Hiddink was the man chosen to come in and right the ship, and although dreams of the top four are long but forgotten, they still have a chance of the FA Cup and a shot at the Champions League if they are able to overturn a 2-1 deficit to PSG. Hiddink, though, was never the future of Chelsea. That honor reportedly belongs to Antonio Conte, and it will be fascinating to see what the Italian manager has planned for the London club.
