Oklahoma City overcame two straight losses to defeat Dallas on Wednesday night and the Thunder are ready to move in the right direction. The Thunder are 41-16 and looking to make a serious run at the Western Conference title even though they’re probably the third choice behind the Warriors and Spurs.

How can any team struggle with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook leading the way? Durant is averaging 27.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Westbrook is having just as good of a year, putting up 24.0 points, 10.2 assists and 7.5 rebounds per contest. These two are the most dangerous combo in the league right now.

The New Orleans Pelicans have won four out of six games and are just 22-34 and in six games out of playoff contention. The Pelicans are a much better home team than they are on the road, like most teams in the league, but if they plan on making a run toward the NBA playoffs, they’ll need to keep feeding Anthony Davis.

Speaking of the All-Star big man, Davis is averaging 24 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. He’s blossomed into one of the best post players in the game and is coming off a recent 59-point performance against the Pistons. Ryan Anderson, the team’s second-leading scorer, was expected to be traded but surprisingly stayed put at the deadline.
