Former Cleveland Browns‘ running back Trent Richardson is set to join the Baltimore Ravens.

Trent Richardson has perhaps one more chance at fulfilling his insane potential. The 2011 Heisman Trophy finalist while with Alabama in his junior year was drafted by the Cleveland Browns with the third-overall pick. After a promising rookie year where he ran for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns, Richardson’s career has stalled significantly due to repeated injury issues.

His tenure in Cleveland ultimately ended after he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts where he was truly dreadful, and he spent last year out of football altogether after being cut by the Oakland Raiders. However, he is set for a return to the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens and will be looking to revitalize his career.

The move, per AL.com, is pending a successful medical, which is clearly a bigger hurdle for Richardson than others, and no financial information has been released yet, however, it is likely to be a low-risk deal for the Ravens.

Baltimore are in the market for a running back after the Ray Rice debacle and Justin Forsett’s disappointing season. Forsett was expected to progress from his impressive 2014 season, but a combination of poor form and injuries limited his development. Richardson will now join Forsett in the Ravens backfield and will compete for a starting role.

Whether Richardson’s health will hold up is another question, but it will be nice to see him try to overcome many of the health issues that have plagued him in the past. Unfortunately, he needs to show more than just good health to make it on the Ravens’ roster.
