The Golden State Warriors are now favored to hold the all-time best NBA record for a single season.

When the Chicago Bulls went 72-10 in the 1995-96 regular season, nobody thought it was possible. Now it seems that the Warriors are looking to best that mark, something most deemed unfathomable. According to the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, the Warriors are actually favored to achieve the feat, per ESPN.

Golden State waxed the Miami Heat last night at American Airlines Arena, moving its record to 51-5. The Warriors only have 26 games to play and at this point, only need to go 22-4 to finish the season with 73 wins, a new record. It seems as though only injuries could stop that from happening, with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green leading the way.

The Warriors are also eight of their next nine games at ORACLE Arena, a place that Golden State has not lost all season. In addition, all of those games come against teams either on the edge or completely out of the playoff race, save for the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 3.

The Warriors have a common tie to the Bulls of the Michael Jordan era, with Steve Kerr as their head coach. Kerr was a sharpshooter and a great bench player for Chicago, who won three championships with Kerr on board.
