BAE Index 2/26/16: Aaron’s Dunk Party
Anthony Davis Kryponites Russell Westbrook
The best superhero fight isn’t Batman vs. Superman, or Captain America vs. Iron Man. It’s Russell Westbrook vs. Anthony Davis. And this round goes to The Brow.
Not many big man are quick enough to meet Westbrook at the rim, but Davis wasn’t late. He went down on that play, but returned to the game and looked fine. Hopefully, he can stay healthy and continue to produce insane highlights like this one.
Stephen Curry Hits Another Ridiculous Three
Look, I’m out of puns for Steph. I’m sorry, but I didn’t know I’d need more than 100 before the year started or I’d have rationed them more appropriately. But there’s not much more to say about what he does.
Yes, he hit a banked buzzer beater from halfcourt. Yes, he had 51 points in another victory and hit ten threes. But is anyone surprised anymore?
Gordon Slamsay
Curry wasn’t the only one with highlights in that game, however. Orlando was able to hang around for three quarters, and Aaron Gordon certainly helped the cause. It turns out that dunking thing is good in the dunk contest AND games, too. Who would’ve known?
Draymond Green tries to contest everything. But even he knew it was time to step away and let Gordon fly on this one.
Monster Bucks
Basketball is better with a healthy Jabari Parker. Want proof?
Look at the unrestrained joy on Parker’s face after he throws down the alley oop. There’s been a lot of disappointment in Milwaukee this year, but Parker’s return and progression has not been one of them.
Behind the Head Thread
I’ve watched this 100 times, and I still don’t know how Isaiah Thomas threw this pass to Jae Crowder.
Seriously, how does he time something as difficult as that as perfectly as he did? It’s one of the most incredible passes of the season. Keep doing you, Isaiah.
