Brandan Wright: Should You Pick Him Up?

Brandan Wright has finally supplanted JaMychal Green in the starting five for the Memphis Grizzlies. You had to see this one coming and perhaps if you are in a real deep league you are already considering picking him up. I tend to think that he could be a pretty good grab for fantasy basketball purposes.

Once he begins seeing close to 30 minutes a game I think that he will be worthy of playing even in standard leagues. In his last game he saw 15 points and six rebounds and with the lack of quality centers for fantasy purposes he will most likely be a nice addition for your fantasy team.

He only saw 22 minutes in the last game on the 24th of February, but like I said before he did manage 15 points and six rebounds. He will also most likely be a nice source of blocks as he has blocked three shots in his first three games.

At this point I would have a hard time cutting anyone who is contributing nicely for your fantasy team, but if you have some dead weight or you need some help in either rebounds or blocked shots then Wright could be a nice addition for your team.

Wright is not on the dynasty or keeper league radar, but in a deep league I would not mind you seeing if yo can trade for him. I think he might have some inconsistencies, but he should be a solid source of fantasy points for your team and your title run. I am also advising you pick him up straight away in most any league of 12 teams or larger. If you have some dead weight in a standard league then he is not a bad idea there either.

Picking up Wright is not going to be the move to propel you to a title, but if you are diligent with your team then you will certainly be on track and one of the favorites to take home the big prize. If you owned Marc Gasol in a keeper league then I would hope you have already added Wright, but if you have not and he is still floating on your wire I would suggest you go and pick him up right now.
