The Warriors visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Klay Thompson is ready for Hogwarts
The Golden State Warriors are on pace to finish with the best regular season record in NBA history right now. They’re simply doing things that we’ve never seen before on a basketball court—so much so that it’s almost like magic. So what better way for the Warriors and star shooting guard Klay Thompson to spend a day off on their Florida road trip than with a visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter them park?
Thompson, Harrison Barnes, and Leandro Barbosa of the Warriors took a team field trip to the Harry Potter themed extension of Universal Studios and, while the whole team seemed to enjoy themselves, no one appeared to have quite as good of a time as the All-Star Thompson. Not only was Klay enamored with the buildings and just about everything, but he also bought his first wand during the visit (or rather was chosen by his wand if you follow the Harry Potter cultural beliefs):
"“The wand chooses the wizard, @KlayThompson.”https://t.co/FYrC9CWicO— GoldenStateWarriors (@warriors) February 27, 2016"
Especially with a team like the Warriors, you sometimes forget that these are just regular guys with exceptional abilities that are just as prone to geeking out over being a part of Harry Potter as anyone else would be.
However, if you’re wondering why Stephen Curry wasn’t there to support his backcourt mate in Klay Thompson as he got his first wand, Curry has pretty obviously been practicing wizardry and sorcery for some time now—he has no time for beginners.
