Kyle Lowry completed a masterful performance against the Cavs by netting the game-winner for the Raptors
The Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers were locked in a dead heat on Friday night in a battle between the two best teams in the Eastern Conference. Raptors All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry carried his team for most of the night, but he saved his most heroic efforts for the end of the game when his team needed them the most.
With the game knotted at 97-97, Lowry had the ball at the top of the key and needed to get a shot off for the Raptors before time ran out as there was a slight difference between the game and shot clocks. The Raptors point guard then took it upon himself to absolutely cook Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova off of the dribble before stepping back and drilling a long two:
After a weird, unsuccessful Cavs possession with just seconds remaining, Lowry’s beautiful stepback jumper turned out to be the game-winner, as it rightfully should have considering what he did for the Raptors on Friday.
Kyle Lowry finished the night with a monstrous 43 points on the night. Just for good measure, he also added nine assists and five rebounds to his credit. It seems pretty clear that he wasn’t about to let the Cavaliers feel any kind of comfort atop the East down the stretch of the regular season—and his game-winning effort only further proved that.
