Magic Johnson believes the Warriors will make history
Magic Johnson has joined the Warriors hype train, predicting a historic end of the season for the team
The Golden State Warriors have been the best team in basketball all year. They make basketball fun to watch, even for casual fans. There may be a chance they become the greatest team in NBA history. Day in and day out the team dominates competition, thanks in large part to defending MVP Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and the emergence of Draymond Green.
Lakers legend Magic Johnson is known for his ebullient tweets. Magic pops in here and there to make a prediction, or just to say how he feels. He is also one of the most positive guys on earth – the human equivalent of a golden retriever – and has mixed all of those qualities into a very interesting set of tweets. After the Warriors dominated the Magic 130-114 last night to go to 52-5, the Hall of Famer guaranteed that Golden State will make history in the NBA.
That is a very generous statement, even after the Warriors lost their first game after the All-Star break to Portland. Everyone has been wondering if the team could truly break the record held by Michael Jordan’s Bulls. Magic gave a straight answer, which was pretty cool. He also gave his opinion on the teams chances come playoff time.
It appears he has endorsed the Warriors for the NBA Finals. The way the Warriors play, their fullest potential can be turned on *snap* just like that. At this point, a return to the Finals and not winning would be a disappointment for this team, who has the entire world watching them.
While he will always be loyal to the Lakers, Magic knows greatness when he sees it. Now as a spectator, he is witnessing a team entering its own era of dominance.
