No. 9 Arizona Wildcats vs No. 22 Utah Utes
Sean Miller was displeased earlier this week, not because of his Arizona Wildcats’ performance on the court during a loss to Colorado, but because the Buffaloes fans stormed the court in ‘dangerous’ fashion. It was Arizona’s first loss in six games and the Buffaloes had no business winning, but it brought the red-hot Wildcats back down to earth.

A big reason for Arizona’s success in recent weeks has to be the return of star freshman guard Allonzo Trier who’s second on the team in scoring with 14.8 points and is making 49 percent of his field goals. Ryan Anderson has been solid all year, averaging 16.0 points and 10.2 rebounds while Gabe York is averaging 14.5 points while shooting 42 percent from downtown.
With two games left in the regular season, the Utah Utes are just 0.5 games out of first place in the Pac-12 with a serious shot to swipe first place if they take down Arizona on Saturday. The Wildcats have won five straight games including a thrashing of Arizona State on Thursday in which they held the Sun Devils to just 10 points in the first half.
Jakob Poeltl had a shot at going pro and being selected in the first round of the NBA Draft a season ago, but he decided to come back to Utah. He’s been playing well, averaging 17.7 points and 8.9 rebounds while shooting about 67 percent from the field. Senior forward Jordan Loveridge is another name to watch, averaging 11.9 points and shooting 43 percent from three-point land.
