No. 11 Louisville Cardinals vs No. 12 Miami Hurricanes

Unfortunately for the student-athletes of the Louisville basketball team, there will be no meaningful postseason after the 2015-16 season. The ACC Tournament will be all that’s left after the regular season ends despite being ranked No. 11 in the country. A self-imposed postseason ban has tarnished a once-promising 22-6 season for a team still in the conference title hunt.

Now that means senior transfers Damion Lee and Trey Lewis won’t be able to reach their goal of winning it all that they set for themselves before deciding to pick Louisville. Lee has still played himself into a decent draft pick, averaging 16.6 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 37 percent from long range while Lewis is putting up 11.7 points with the same three-point percentage.

With a chance to make some serious noise in the ACC regular season title race, the Miami Hurricanes traveled to North Carolina, but fell short, 96-71. Miami rebounded to beat No. 3 Virginia at home and if they win out and the Tar Heels lose another game, they’re guaranteed a share of the conference crown.

Senior guard, and Texas transfer from three years ago, Sheldon McClellan is leading the team offensively this season, averaging 15.7 points while shooting 41 percent from three-point range. Angel Rodriguez is second on the team with 11.3 points while leading in assists — 4.3 per contest. Taking down Louisville puts the Hurricanes one step closer to an improbable ACC title.
