No. 10 Maryland Terrapins vs No. 20 Purdue Boilermakers
The Maryland Terrapins have gone from Big Ten favorite and top-five team in the country to 1.5 games out of first in the conference and barely a top-10 team in just over a week’s time. Losing two games to Wisconsin and winless Minnesota didn’t help their cause, though. Maryland will have a chance to improve their NCAA Tournament stock against Purdue Saturday.

Melo Trimble may be just a sophomore, but he’s the clear leader of this team. Despite having the chance to go pro a season ago, he decided to come back and hone his skills. Purdue has been trading wins and losses over the past five games, playing some very inconsistent basketball. Although they do have a good win against Michigan State during that time, the Boilermakers nearly blew a 16-point halftime lead as the game went into overtime. The Boilermakers have a shot to make up for a loss to Maryland a few weeks ago.
The Boilermakers have more size than just about any other team in the Big Ten with guys like A.J. Hammons, Isaac Haas and Caleb Swanigan in the post. Hammons is putting up 14.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while blocking 2.6 shots. Haas is averaging 10.0 points and 4.0 rebounds while Swanigan is putting up 9.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
