NFL Trade Rumors: Texans, Browns will show interest in Colin Kaepernick
By Jack Crosby
The Texans and Browns are two of the teams that will be interested in Colin Kaepernick.
The situation between the San Francisco 49ers and quarterback Colin Kaepernick doesn’t seem as if it will be getting better anytime soon. This past week the team said that it was confident that he would be their signal-caller this coming season, but then not long after that we learned that his reps had asked permission to seek a trade.
Yeah, not all rosy in the Bay Area at the moment.
Well, what we’re learning now is that despite all of these reports of asking for trade permission, the team is still of the belief that he will be running the offense later this year. However, should they break down and give Kaepernick what he seems to want, then the two teams who will see if they could work out a deal are the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns.
Really, these two teams being at the front of the line when it comes to a potential deal for a quarterback is no surprise at all.
We saw last season that the Texans are indeed a playoff-caliber team. But what we saw definitively when they got to the postseason was that they’re in desperate need of a quarterback if they want any hope of making it anywhere near the Super Bowl.
As for the Browns — well, they’re the Browns and they need a quarterback, what else is new?
First, however, the 49ers have to give the permission.
