Stephen Curry isn’t happy that there have been retired NBA stars bashing the Golden State Warriors lately.

After Stephen Jackson said that his Golden State Warriors team of 2007 could have beaten this year’s Golden State Warriors, some of the Warriors players had fun with the criticism they received on Twitter. It looked as if they were not bothered at all by the recent “bashing” they have received from retired NBA superstars. This criticism also included Kareem Abdul-Jabbar saying they wouldn’t be seeing this level of success if the NBA was as physical as it used to be. But based on comments from Curry on Saturday, the bashing might be getting to their heads a little more than we think it is.

Curry said on a podcast from the Bay Area News Group that, “It’s starting to get a little annoying just because it’s kind of unwarranted from across the board.”

Based on Curry’s expansion on the comment later in the podcast, it sounded more as if he was frustrated with the fact that they were being compared to teams from different eras when he said, “you don’t hear us talking about, you know, comparing ourselves to other great teams.”

Cross-generational basketball debates are some of the most talked about debates in all of basketball. Fans will always have a side when it comes to, “LeBron James or Michael Jordan,” and fans will probably be taking sides soon with “classic NBA team or the Golden State Warriors of 2016?”

Really, it’s understandable that Curry and the Warriors are getting frustrated with all of the criticism. They have the best record in the NBA, so you’d think they would be the last team to be getting criticized by former NBA stars. Instead, at least as of late, they are catching almost all of the criticism. The real story here is whether or not the Warriors will let that get in their heads enough to impact their game.
