Tim Tebow’s former head coach, Urban Meyer, believes that Tebow would consider going to the Canadian Football League.

Tim Tebow isn’t giving up on his dream of playing professional football yet. The 28-year-old quarterback was last seen in the NFL last season, when he played for the Philadelphia Eagles in the preseason before being released and subsequently not picked up by any other team following his release.

Even if he can’t land a job in the NFL, there are other options that could be available to Tebow, as he continues to work on his game as a quarterback. One of those options could be potentially the Canadian Football League.

When Mike Mayock mentioned on the NFL Network that the CFL could be good for Tebow, Urban Meyer believed that his former quarterback would consider it. Via ProFootballTalk, Meyer was quoted as saying on the NFL Network, that Tebow would make the move if it was the right opportunity.

"“I think that’s a great point and I was actually in a conversation with him about going to Canada. The situation — his family and I were involved in it — we just didn’t think it was the right one. I think if there’s a right one I think he’d probably do it,” Meyer said."

One of the big differences in the CFL compared to the NFL is the much larger field. With more room in play, Tebow’s issues with accuracy would certainly be put to the test and it would give him plenty of opportunities to also work on developing his game as a quarterback.

In fact, one of the more interesting parts of the interview with Meyer, was the fact that he wasn’t shy about Tebow needing to work on develop his passing ability.

"“He does have somewhat of an awkward throwing motion at times,” he said. “I really thought the Chip Kelly experience would be his opportunity — I really hope he gets his foot in the door.”"

When the Eagles decided to cut Tebow before the regular season, it came as a surprise to many, as Tebow seemed like a good fit for some of the things that Kelly could do with his offense. With the struggles that ensued, the Eagles might have been able to use someone like Tebow in certain sets.

Plenty of players have crossed lines between the NFL and CFL in the past, and Tebow would certainly be a name that would attract plenty of attention to the league.
