A look at the bracket for the 2016 Atlantic Sun Tournament that is ready to get underway at the start of March

With only days remaining in February, one of the most exciting times of every year in college basketball and sports as a whole is just around the corner: March Madness. It’s the time of year when young men become heroes and when anything can happen. But first, the automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament must be determined through conference tournaments. One of the first to get going is the 2016 Atlantic Sun Tournament.

The Atlantic Sun was highly competitive this season with at least four teams out of the eight in the entire conference that could have walked away with the regular season title. However, when the action gets underway for the Atlantic Sun Tournament on Tuesday, March 1, the North Florida Ospreys will be occupying the No. 1 seed as the regular season champions of the Atlantic Sun.

Though North Florida was atop the conference in the regular season, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t other teams that could make some noise. The NJIT Highlanders, Jacksonville Dolphins, and Florida Gulf Coast Eagles—who you’ll remember from the NCAA Tournament a few years ago—are all not far behind and ready to make a run into March Madness.
