The month of March is nearly upon us, meaning that it’s time to get ready for the craziest part of the college basketball season, March Madness. We all look forward to the NCAA Tournament and the big dance, but before we get to that point we must first get through the conference tournaments.
One of these that will be brought to us is the 2016 Big South Tournament.
The Big South Conference brings us some of the best basketball that we can find sometimes, and there very well may be a team in this field that could stun us all in the NCAA Tournament. With the way things have gone in the college basketball regular season, it’s not completely impossible.
This year the No. 1 overall seed in the Big South Tournament is High Point, who comes in with a record of 20-9 overall and are 13-5 in the conference. However, winning is not a lock, as a familiar name in Winthrop, the No. 2 seed, will be breathing right down their necks with their similar 13-5 record in-conference.
But, as we’ve seen in conference tournaments before, winning is not a lock for either team, as things could get crazy in the Big South with this tournament.
