Gus Johnson: Dwight Howard wanted to go to Milwaukee (Video)
During the broadcast of the Bucks and Rockets, Gus Johnson said Dwight Howard told him he wanted to go to Milwaukee.
During the NBA Trade Deadline, Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard found himself in many rumors about him being on the move. After the deadline, ESPN’s Marc Stein reported that a deal between the Milwaukee Bucks and Houston Rockets involving Howard fell apart because Howard wouldn’t opt-in to his deal next year.
On Monday night, the Rockets and Bucks squared off in Milwaukee, and Bucks announcer Gus Johnson had some interesting comments about the deal that fell through between the two sides. During the live broadcast of the game, Johnson mentioned that Howard had told him personally that he wanted to go to Milwaukee at the deadline.

The desire for the Rockets to trade Howard came after the team began to nosedive to the bottom of the playoff standings and ultimately out of them at one point. It’s been reported that James Harden tried to get Howard traded and it’s known that chemistry with the Rockets is all but gone.
Still, if Howard really wanted to go to Milwaukee, he probably would have opted into his contract. However, Johnson noted that Howard said Milwaukee is one of the teams he is interested in.
