New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had an embarrassing moment, as he tried to dunk after a whistle and missed.
There’s nothing quite like the embarrassment of missing a dunk or layup. There’s also nothing quite as embarrassing as missing a wide open dunk in frustration after a whistle. On Tuesday night, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had himself an embarrassing moment against the Portland Trail Blazers.
As Anthony was trying to go up for a bucket against the Trail Blazers, he was fouled on the play and couldn’t get the basket. Anthony attempted to go up multiple times and was frustrated with his inability to score on the play. After the ref blew the whistle, Anthony decided to throw down a dunk in frustration.
Except he didn’t make the dunk and crashed to the floor in embarrassing fashion.
Afterward, Anthony could do nothing but laugh it off with the rest of his teammates. Anthony even had a chuckle with the referee about the whole ordeal. When everyone is laughing at you, sometimes it’s best to just laugh along with them rather than getting upset.
Anthony really wanted his two points and was determined to make the bucket even if it didn’t count. He failed miserably, but he had a great laugh about it.
