Lance Stephenson tries to take on Kosta Koufos, fails (Video)

Memphis Grizzlies guard Lance Stephenson tried to take on Sacramento Kings center Kosta Koufos and failed miserably.

It’s human nature to try and challenge someone that is bigger than you. On Wednesday night, Memphis Grizzlies guard Lance Stephenson was full of human nature, or in this case, just the way he normally plays and he learned that sometimes it’s better to not try and take the big guy on.

With Sacramento Kings center Kosta Koufos anchoring the post, Stephenson tried to drive from the corner and take the big man on at the hoop. Instead, Koufos held his ground and Stephenson failed miserably at trying to put him on a poster.

Stephenson would run right smack dab into Koufos and his shot came nowhere close, as Stephenson crashed to the floor and tried to get a call, rather than realizing taking on Koufos at the hoop was probably not his smartest idea.

Give Stephenson credit for wanting to take on Koufos, but at the same time, he probably would have been better at giving the ball up to someone else. When there’s a bad play on the court by one teammate, another teammate generally gets sucked in and makes a bad play as well.

That’s what happened as JaMychal Green trailed and try to get a putback attempt in. Instead, he just crashed to the floor next to Stephenson.
