The New York Rangers should get forward Rick Nash back within the next 10 to 14 days

The New York Rangers have been without forward Rick Nash since he suffered a leg injury against the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 22. He wasn’t expected to miss much time but a bone bruise and complications have caused him to miss 18 consecutive games as of March 2nd. Nash hasn’t played since suffering the injury. It has been a long and frustrating recovery for Nash, the Rangers, and their fans. The Rangers should be getting him back very soon.

Don’t let the Rangers 11-4-1 record without Nash fool you. The Rangers miss him and they are a better offensive team when he is on the ice. A well-rested Nash could be the final piece to the Rangers puzzle as they look to live up to the lofty expectations put on them when they went all-in for this season by trading for defenseman Keith Yandle.

Nash has 12 goals and 21 assists for 33 points this season in 45 games. He has remained quite productive even with a career low shooting percentage of 8.1 percent. Nash is one of the Rangers best penalty killers and is a staple of their power play. If he can return healthy, play like he did before getting injured, and perhaps get a little bit more lucky, Nash could transform the Rangers into the Washington Capitals’ worst nightmare.
