Updated EPL table: Tottenham shut out by West Ham; Liverpool moves up

What does the Barclays Premier League table look like after Wednesday’s action?

Things are getting tight in the race to the top of the Premiere League table, and Wednesday’s action was full of both missed opportunities and last ditch efforts.

Liverpool beat up on Manchester City to gain three-points in the table, while both Arsenal and Tottenham failed to seize major chances to close the gap at the top of the table.

Arsenal lost this past weekend to Manchester United, which was made even more devastating in the wake of Tottenham winning. Arsenal had a shot to make up ground on Tottenham on Wednesday, as the Spurs lost to West Ham 1-0. However, Arsenal also fell in their Wednesday match, losing to Swansea City 2-1. They picked up a point on Tottenham but it wasn’t the day Arsenal was hoping for.

Here’s a look at the updated EPL table after Wednesday’s action:

The biggest winner on the day was Manchester United, as they were able to move closer to Manchester City for the final spot atop the table. There is still work to be done if Man U wants to overtake their crosstown rivals, but the club seems to be getting hot and having the right chips fall into the right place at just the right time.

Everyone is chasing Leicester City at the top of the table, and the losses on Wednesday by both Arsenal and Tottenham were born chances. Liverpool was able to climb back into the top-1o, but it’s a classic case of too little too late at Anfield.
