Whoās hot and whoās not heading into the 2016 Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday?
Thereās officially two races in the books for the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. After the Daytona 500 and Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500, Denny Hamlin and Jimmie Johnson have each earned themselves a spot in the Chase and a chance to compete for a Sprint Cup Championship.
Sundayās race at Atlanta Motor Speedway was one of the more interesting races of the season to date, as it took brilliant pit strategy for Jimmie Johnson to defeat Kevin Harvick. Harvick would get a chance late to pass Jimmie Johnson, after a caution brought everyone back together.
However, Johnson was able to hold on in overtime, as a major crash took place behind him. Harvick would drop to sixth in the fracas and Dale Earnhardt Jr. was able to sneak up on everyone and steal a second-place finish. This week, NASCAR heads to another track that Harvick performs well at.
On Sunday, NASCAR will head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Kobalt 400. Harvick is the defending race champion and there is a slew of races coming up that he dominates at. Like Harvick, Jimmie Johnson is another driver that performs well at mile and a half tracks.
Will Harvick join Johnson and Hamlin in the Chase? Or will someone else jump in and earn their spot in the Chase on Sunday?
