The Seattle Seahawks safety was looking for a site to buy for his gym in the state of Washington when employees of a locked building called police.
It was supposed to be a normal day for Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor. The NFL star was shopping around the suburban city of Redmond, Washington looking for a possible site to construct a gym. While looking at various locations, the group stumbled upon a building that was locked with employees inside.
Chancellor and others in his group were trying to get the employees’ attention so that they can get more information on the location. What happened next was the police being called on the group by those inside.
Redmond, WA Police released the 911 call from those employees, in which they claimed the people outside looked like “homeless kids and heroin addicts”:
Police did respond and the “misunderstanding” was resolved, saying the interaction with Chancellor and his group was generally positive.
The Mayor of Redmond, WA apologized on social media for the incident and offered Chancellor back to his city for a chance to make things right:
The owner of the gym also invited Chancellor back to speak about the property, but defended the actions of his employees…saying the business had experienced attempted break-ins in recent months. After the indecent, Chancellor seemed hesitant about any future business dealing in the area:
Good thing the cops know I'm a good guy and stealing isn't in my blood. I work for everything I get

No I was mad because all I wanted was a number to call and they waved me off like a fly without answering me https://t.co/eAJnjw3vJv

I guess I won't put a gym in Redmond then. I'm not qualified. I want to post her face so bad on the phone looking disgusted.

The Redmond Athletic Club, where Chancellor and his associates were seeking information, closed for business at the end of February.
