As most expected, Kevin Martin will be headed to play for the San Antonio Spurs

Earlier this week veteran free agent shooting guard Kevin Martin came to terms on a buyout with the Minnesota Timberwolves, making him the free man that he is now, in a move that a lot of people saw coming. Well after the buyout agreement was reached between the two sides, there was another move that most saw coming, that being Martin heading off to play for the San Antonio Spurs.

Well, that does appear to be the case,

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Spurs and Martin have already agreed on a deal and he will be joining the second-best team in the Western Conference.

This is just what the Spurs do, and there’s really no doubt that Martin will more than likely thrive in the team’s system, no matter how much he’s actually used.

The Timberwolves moved on from Martin as the team focuses on youth, but you know that Gregg Popovich will find a good way to utilize Martin to benefit the Spurs and their quest for another NBA title. He’s done it before and he’ll do it again with Martin as he works him into the fold.

For the T-Wolves this season, Martin averaged 10.6 points per game and he averages 17.6 points per game for his career.
