Arron Afflalo crosses over Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Video)
Knicks guard Arron Afflalo showed that he’s still got the moves, as he crossed over Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Arron Afflalo might be getting older, but his old man game is adapting. On Saturday night, Afflalo showed that he still had it against the Detroit Pistons. With the New York Knicks coming out with something to prove after a string of losses, Afflalo set the tone with a big play offensively against Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
With Afflalo bringing the ball down the court, the always quick on defense Caldwell-Pope decided to try his hand at taking Afflalo on. That’s when Afflalo decided to hit Caldwell-Pope with a crossover so hard that Caldwell-Pope was put on skates and eventually fell to the floor.
Caldwell-Pope is one of the up and coming defensive players in the NBA, but this time the veteran Afflalo got him. What’s impressive about this play is that Afflalo’s crossover wasn’t even quick, it was more methodical in approach.
It carved Caldwell-Pope up the entire way and Afflalo sunk the shot, which bounced off the back iron and came back down. That’s just the price of matching up against a crafty veteran. They can still bust out a crossover every now and then.
