<p>The entire country was treated to a glimpse at how bad the Lakers are on ESPN on Friday night. Los Angeles dropped a (very) lopsided home decision to the Hawks, and even with the caveat that the Lakers were banged up beyond belief in the backcourt, Los Angeles is a mess.</p> <p>If not for a victory earlier in the week over Brooklyn, the Lakers would have been a serious competitor for the number one spot this week. Philadelphia 76ers. 1. team. 93. <p>This just feels right.</p> <p>With apologies to the Sixers, Philadelphia is <em>supposed</em> to occupy the “top” spot in these rankings from an organizational philosophy standpoint, and their play is now matching that mantra. The Sixers have dropped 11 straight decisions after playing largely improved basketball midseason, and the wheels have come careening off the wagon.</p> <p>It is public knowledge that the Sixers are set up to tank in the most epic way possible, but any momentum they picked up with reasonable play earlier in the year has vanished.
