NFL Rumors: Dolphins interested in Mario Williams

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly interested in signing Mario Williams.

NFL Free Agency doesn’t officially open until next week, but already we’re starting to hear names of players connected to teams that might sign them.

One team that might end up throwing more money at their defense are the Miami Dolphins. Last year they inked top free agent Ndamukong Suh to a massive contract, and might again be looking at a top target this offseason.

According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, the Dolphins are visiting with Mario Williams and have interest in signing him.

Adding Williams to that defensive front could be a game changer for Miami. They have a new head coach, a new outlook and could find a way to pair Suh and Williams on the same front.

Such was devastating in Detroit when he had help from the likes of Ziggy Ansah or Kyle Vanden Bosch coming off the edge. Adding in Williams to the mix might be what the Dolphins need to start fully getting what they want out of Suh and turn him back into the monster he was a few years ago.

Of course, Williams is no guarantee to work out in Miami and this is just his first of what will likely be a handful of visits. He’s a top defensive target on the market, and the Dolphins won’t be the only team looking to sign him.
