Following his final game at home for the Kansas Jayhawks, Perry Ellis poked a little fun at some long-running jokes

Saturday afternoon, the Kansas Jayhawks were able to capture a win over the Iowa State Cyclones before they get set for a run in the Big 12 Tournament, as well as the NCAA Tournament where they will look to capture the national championship. Maybe the most significant part of Saturday, though, was that it marked the final home game inside Phog Allen Fieldhouse for senior Perry Ellis.

Now, for as great as Ellis is on the court, he’s maybe known for something else. You see, having stuck around Lawrence for four years in a world where one-and-dones are so prominent makes it seem as if he’s been there forever. Also, he doesn’t actually look the part of a college athlete, as he looks more like that of someone who’s been at Kansas for the last 40 years — not four.

Following his final home game, though, Ellis was able to flash off a bit of his personality and even poke a little fun at himself.

You have to love the way that he just decided to have some fun with it. Heck, you look at my Twitter feed, you’ll see that I like to partake in the occasional Perry Ellis age joke.

But in reality, now that he’s actually leaving, college basketball and all of us will miss this tremendous young man a lot.
