A look at the field for the 2016 SEC Tournament, complete with a printable bracket

March Madness 2016 will begin in just over a week with the 2016 NCAA Tournament getting underway and college basketball fans everywhere rejoicing at the best time of year. However, the auto-bids for the tournament have to be determined by conference tournament champions. One of the biggest to be decided is the champion of the 2016 SEC Tournament.

The action in the SEC Tournament will get open with a lone game n Wednesday, March 9 as the No. 12 Tennessee Volunteers will take on the No. 13 Auburn Tigers. The winner of that game will then play the No. 5 Vanderbilt Commodores. In a bit of a quirk in the large SEC Conference, the top-four seeds will get a bye to the quarterfinals. Those four teams are the No. 4 LSU Tigers, the No. 3 South Carolina Gamecocks, the No. 2 Kentucky Wildcats, and the No. 1 Texas A&M Aggies.

It’s a bit of a surprise to not see this vaunted Kentucky team atop the SEC, but make no mistake that they have to be considered one of the favorites to come out as the champs in the 2016 SEC Tournament. However, you can’t count out the LSU Tigers and just how incredible Ben Simmons is.

That’s the way that the 2016 SEC Tournament bracket shakes out, with the title game taking place on Sunday, March 13. With all of the teams with a viable shot at winning the automatic bid, this will be one of the tourneys to watch.
