NBA Rumors: 5 free agency destinations for Dwyane Wade
By John Buhler
While Dwyane Wade has spent his entire NBA career with the Miami Heat, could the veteran shooting guard join another team this summer in NBA free agency?
Last summer, Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade signed a one-year deal to stay with the team worth $20 million. Wade’s payday was well deserved, as he has been the face of the Miami franchise for the last 13 years since being drafted by the Heat at No. 5 in the 2003 NBA Draft out of Marquette University.
Though Wade is still a perennial Eastern Conference All-Star and easily one of the 50 best players to play in the NBA, his biggest annual salary to date came in the back-end of his prime as a way to make up for the financial sacrifices he made during the Big Three era in Miami.
Even through his injury-riddled career, Wade continuously proves that he is an all-time great when he’s on the hardwood. He should eclipse 20,000 career points by the end of the 2015-16. Wade will absolutely be enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame and have his No. 3 jersey retired by the Heat when he calls it a career.
While there is a good chance that Wade will spend his entire NBA career in Miami, he will again enter unrestricted free agency this summer. Here are the five teams that would make the most since for Wade to sign with in NBA Free Agency.
