Matt Kenseth, Chase Elliott, and Carl Edwards were involved in a crash late at the Kobalt 400.
For the majority of the race, the biggest issue at the Kobalt 400 was the weather. It was rainy, windy, and then there was a dust storm. However, the luck didn’t last as Matt Kenseth, Chase Elliott, and Carl Edwards were involved in the race’s first crash with under 50 laps to go.

Ryan Blanley was drifting closely to Kenseth and caught the No. 20 car as they were both headed around the curve. After Kenseth got loose and saved himself, Chase Elliott ended up in the back of Kenseth’s car. Both Kenseth and Elliott are done at Las Vegas with the latter now only finishing one of the first three races.
Kurt Busch spun out as well with Carl Edwards getting some minor damage as a result of being behind the wreck.
With the race entering the homestretch, the drivers needed to put the pedal to the metal and start driving a tad more aggressive. There isn’t much longer in the race so the drivers can’t afford to drive conservatively in order to have a shot of winning in Las Vegas.
The caution came out at an opportune time for many of the drivers who needed to make one last pit stop on the race. It also closes the gap in the field, so the final leg of the race is set to be a thriller.
