Larry Nance, Jr. delivered thunderous first quarter jam against the Golden State Warriors, leading D’Angelo Russell to flap his arms like a bird celebrating.
It’s starting to become a thing in with the Los Angeles Lakers, but every time big man Larry Nance, Jr. displays a monstrous dunk against an opponent, point guard D’Angelo Russell goes crazy on the Lakers’ sidelines in celebration.
Late in the first quarter at home versus the Pacific Division rival beast that is the Golden State Warriors, Nance drives to the basket and effortlessly lays down a thunderous jam in the paint against Golden State.
All-Star power forward Draymond Green wanted absolutely no part of contesting Nance dunk attempt, lazily swatting at Nance while center Anderson Varejao chased from behind to give a better effort at a block attempt.
The Lakers’ bench got up on their feet to see the celebrate Nance’s terrific dunk. However, nobody in Staples Center loved that throw down more than Russell, who immediately started jumping up and down flapping his arms like a bird in celebration.
The Lakers came out with a good spark against the Warriors Sunday afternoon. While Los Angeles rarely wins games in this rebuilding season/Kobe Bryant send-off, the Lakers seem to have some interesting young pieces on already on their roster.
It seems that Nance and Russell are building great chemistry. Julius Randle has the look of solid power forward and Jordan Clarkson can start in this league out on the wing. With the Lakers probably getting a top three pick in the 2016 NBA Draft because of their horrible record this season, they maybe a head of the curve more than one would think in terms of the rebuild.
They will need a new head coach and maybe another veteran or two, but even if regular defeats, the Lakers seem like their starting to have some fun this season, even if head coach Byron Scott doesn’t want them to do anything but praise Bryant.
