Peyton Manning is not done saying goodbye yet, as the Colts will honor him later this month

Peyton Manning officially retired from the NFL on Monday, and in doing so he gave one of the better exit press conferences in quite some time that moved everyone that was watching. Now the press conference took place in Denver, Colorado at the home of the Denver Broncos, which did have some people questioning why it maybe didn’t take place at a neutral site, seeing as he spent most of his significant time with the Indianapolis Colts.

Well, have no fear, because the Colts will get their chance to say goodbye to one of the greatest of all-time as well.

On March 18 at their team complex, the team that drafted Manning out of Tennessee in 1998 will be honoring the man that helped win them Super Bowl 41.

This is an incredible gesture by the Colts organization and one that’s well-deserved. Manning spent the past four seasons with the Broncos, but he spent the first 14 years of his career helping the Colts return to prominence. As he even mentioned in the press conference, he helped lead the team to 12 wins in seven straight seasons, as well as a Super Bowl 41 win over the Chicago Bears.

Knowing just how highly team owner Jim Irsay thinks of Manning, this ceremony on the 18th of this month should be something pretty special to watch, maybe even more so in some cases than the press conference that we saw earlier on Monday.
