DeMarco Murray is heading to the Tennessee Titans and it appears as if it was clearly his favorite choice

With the new NFL year set to start this week, to say that we’re off to an exciting start would be quite the understatement. Monday evening we learned the news that Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray will be heading to the Tennessee Titans in a trade, really becoming the first big bomb to drop.

The relationship between Murray and the Eagles, which started last year when he signed there as a free agent, had not nearly gone as planned so Murray was recently given permission to seek a trade. Well, it apparently didn’t take him or his agent all that long to choose a partner for the Eagles to deal with.

According to the news report from Adam Schefter, after Murray was given permission to seek the trade, he immediately had his sights set on a move to Tennessee, and of course, he ultimately got what he wanted. With the Eagles seemingly pretty eager to get rid of him, it appears the moves went rather smoothly.

Really, you can’t blame Murray for seeking the Titans, in a sense. They have a second-year quarterback that’s on the rise in Marcus Mariota, and with the Titans having the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft, he’s going to probably have a monster tackle to run behind in the form of Ole Miss’ Laremy Tunsil. With the young pieces on this offensive unit, Murray will really be the focal point of the offense, something that he never came close to being during his brief stint with the Eagles in Chip Kelly’s system.

Hey, you have to give it to a guy that was given permission to seek a new home, found one and made sure he got there. Whether or not he had a backup team or two in his plans is something we don’t know at the moment, but in the end, it really doesn’t matter.
