NFL Rumors: Raiders favorites to sign Kelechi Osemele
The Oakland Raiders are making a strong push to sign offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele, being looked at as favorites to sign him
The offensive linemen group in 2016 NFL free agency is a bit perplexing in that there are numerous unknown quantities in regards to performance, age, injury, and so on. However, arguably the surest prospect among the offensive linemen is Kelechi Osemele, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens. Now it seems as if the Oakland Raiders could be in line to add the talented guard/tackle.
According to a report from Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports and FS1, the Raiders are making a hard push to try and sign the talented lineman and, according to this report, Oakland are currently considered the favorites to sign him at this point. Garafolo also noted that Osemele will be getting at least eight figures per year on whatever new contract he signs:
The Raiders showed last season with the emergence of Khalil Mack on the defense and Derek Carr at quarterback really coming into his own that they may only be a few pieces away from really competing in the AFC and the NFL as a whole. Adding a strong player like Osemele to their offensive line could very well be the addition that could put them over the edge.
Moreover, everyone knew that the Raiders were going to be major players throughout the entirety of NFL free agency, but this only further proves that and also proves that they should be looking to spend their ample amounts of cap room wisely.
