NFL Rumors: Titans finalizing DeMarco Murray deal
According to Adam Schefter, the Titans are finalizing a deal to acquire running back DeMarco Murray from the Eagles.
Business is picking up in the NFL with the legal tampering window opening on Monday, and teams have begun to have dialogue with each other and have begun working on trades. One player that has been reported to be available is Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray and it appears that he is on the move.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Tennessee Titans are finalizing a trade that will land them Murray.
Murray signed the big $40 million contract last season with the Eagles, but he was never able to take off under Chip Kelly’s offense. The rumors of the Eagles being willing to move Murray have been swirling for some time now and the Titans acquiring Murray could give him the change of scenery that is needed.
The Titans are trying to surround quarterback Marcus Mariota with talent as they build around him and look to be contenders in a very winnable AFC South. If Murray is able to regain the form that he was in with the Dallas Cowboys, then this could be a huge deal for the Titans. The team drafted Bishop Sankey a couple of years ago, but they haven’t gotten the production out of him that they would have liked.
Adding Murray to the offense could also strengthen the chance that the Titans use their No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft on Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil.
It’s been a busy day of moves for the Philadelphia Eagles and now they are expediting the process of cleaning up the mess from last season. Everyone was wondering just when the shoe was going to drop in Philadelphia and a move was going to be made. They clearly aren’t wasting any time here.
