There’s nothing better when it comes to March Madness than a team coming out of nowhere to shock everyone, to put on the slipper and become the Cinderella story of the NCAA Tournament. The Southland Conference Tournament is, if anything else, one of the most perplexingly laid out tournaments in all of college basketball. In the Southland Conference Tournament, though, seeds Nos. 5-8 play in the first round for the right to face the No. 3 and 4 seeds in the quarterfinals while the two top-seeded teams get byes to the semifinals.

Though anything can happen in a conference tournament and this time of year in college basketball, this is really a two-team race in the 2016 Southland Conference Tournament. Anyone other than the No. 1 Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks or the No. 2 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders winning the Southland is highly improbable.
