WWE Rumors: Seth Rollins return date before SummerSlam 2016?

Does WWE’s SummerSlam promo image indicate that Seth Rollins will return before the pay-per-view?

There’s no question that just one of the many WWE superstars currently out of action returning in time for WrestleMania 32 would help the company a great deal. However, there’s no word on if that will happen, but it seems almost certain that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins won’t be back in time to hit the ring in Dallas. However, it seems as if WWE is expecting Rollins back in plenty of time for SummerSlam 2016.

WWE announced their on-sale dates for the SummerSlam 2016 travel packages on Monday. John Cena, who is another injured star that WWE would like to get back sooner rather than later, is front and center. But noticeably present next to Cena is Seth Rollins in the primary promo image:

While this absolutely confirms nothing and this is all purely speculative at this point, the fact that WWE is advertising Seth Rollins as a selling point—inadvertently or not—by putting him in this image would seemingly indicate that the company expects Rollins to be back healthy before SummerSlam.

This really wouldn’t be that crazy of news considering everything that we do know about the injury. Rollins injured his knee at a house show in mid-November and underwent surgery to repair torn ligaments that were said to leave him on the sidelines for 6-9 months. Considering that SummerSlam is slated for August 21, 2016, that’s well past the long end of the initial timeline—so expecting him back in action by then isn’t far-fetched at all.

However, we haven’t heard much about Rollins since he underwent the surgery and appeared at the Slammy Awards not too long after, so this truly is all speculation at this point. WWE isn’t one to do things by accident like this, though, so it’s safe to assume that this edition of WWE Rumors has some truth to it and that Seth Rollins should be back in action at SummerSlam 2016.
