According to Adam Schefter, the Oakland Raiders will sign Bruce Irvin when free agency begins on Wednesday.

The pass rushers are flying off the market before free agency even begins on Wednesday. With the NFL’s legal tampering having opened on Monday, teams are now able to negotiate with the agents of players and several deals between teams and players have been rumored.

As mentioned, the pass rusher market has been going quick and on Tuesday night, another pass rusher came off the board, when Adam Schefter reported that free agent outside linebacker Bruce Irvin would be joining his former defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. in Oakland.

Immediately this becomes a big deal for the Raiders, as they add yet another good pass rusher to a growing defense featuring All-Pro Khalil Mack. By going to play with his former defensive coordinator, Irvin immediately is placed in a system that he is comfortable with and should be able to excel in without much of a learning curve right away.

The Raiders have taken a big step forward over the last couple of years with their young core and now with some big moves before free agency even begins, the Raiders are finally looking like a team that is a playoff contender yet again.
