NFL Rumors: Buccaneers, Raiders interested in Chris Ivory
By Josh Hill
The Buccaneers and Raiders reportedly have interest in Chris Ivory.
NFL Free Agency is still a day away from officially starting, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been hearing rumors left and right about some of the top players available.
Deals are already being agreed to, and teams are trying o figure out where to best spend their money this offseason. For some teams, snagging a top free agent isn’t in the cards, and playing bit more conservatively to fill roles is what is called for. That’s the case for the Oakland Raiders, who are looking at possibly chasing Chris Ivory to fill out their backfield.
It has also been reported that the Buccaneers have interest in Ivory if they are unable to bring back Doug Martin.
The Bucs and Raiders aren’t the only teams with supposed interest in Ivory. The Houston Texans, who need a replacement for the recently released Arian Foster, are interested as well. It’s safe to say that the free agent frenzy is only just beginning, and it’s not just behemoth names that we need to be concerned about.
Ivory is a big name but not a rock star name — however he’s an affordable name. That’s going to make the difference in a lot of free agent races when it comes to teams like Tampa Bay and Oakland who want to spend conservatively but still improve.
