Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, a finalist for the award in 2015, is still the betting favorite to bring home the 2016 Heisman Trophy.

When Derrick Henry was raising the Heisman Trophy for being named college football’s most outstanding player for the 2015 season, it was thought by many that the two other finalists that year, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson and Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, would be heading back to New York City for the 2016 ceremony.

With just under six months to go until the start of the 2016 season, the two college stars are continuing to top many lists of favorites for the award. You can continue to include the Las Vegas oddsmakers to the list of people that think both players will be back in the Big Apple this December, with Deshaun Watson continuing to be the odds-on favorite to bring home the trophy.

Watson currently sits as a 5-to-1 favorite, with McCaffrey and LSU’s Leonard Fournette at 6-to-1. Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield sits just behind at 10-to-1, while Florida State running back Dalvin Cook and Baylor quarterback Seth Russell are tied at 12-to-1. If Deshaun Watson is able to bring home the award, he would be the first winner in Clemson history. A win by McCaffrey would make him the second player in Stanford history to bring home the trophy, joining 1970 winner Jim Plunkett.
