Backup quarterback extraordinaire Matt Flynn threw shade at Brock Osweiler’s new monster contract with the Houston Texans.

On Wednesday, the Houston Texans pulled off one of the biggest moves yet, when they agreed in principle to a contract with free agent quarterback Brock Osweiler just before free agency even began. It was a surprise to everyone that he would leave the Denver Broncos, but low and behold, the Texans gave him an offer that Osweiler nor anyone in his position could possibly refuse.

The Texans are set to give Osweiler a whopping $72 million over four years and it has changed the way that quarterbacks will be paid in the future, as Osweiler doesn’t have many games under his belt as a starter. With Osweiler getting paid such a ludicrous amount of money, another quarterback in the league that got paid a lot for a small sample size decided to throw shade at Osweiler’s new deal.

After the deal was reported, quarterback Matt Flynn decided to chime in and give his thoughts on the big deal that Osweiler just signed with the Texans.

"Wow I know I'm going to get killed for this and I don't have a lot of room to talk, but this latest QB contract is unbelievable…….."

Flynn of course is best known for being the quarterback that cashed in huge with the Seattle Seahawks after a small sample size with the Green Bay Packers. Flynn wouldn’t even get the starting job after signing the huge contract and he has bounced around the league as a backup quarterback ever since.

For Osweiler’s sake, he better hope that he’s able to lead the Texans and not become another Flynn. The good news is that he got paid handsomely and Flynn is taking notice of what he started a few years ago.
