NFL Free Agency: Adam Jones re-signs with Bengals for three years

Adam Jones will be staying with the Bengals for the next three seasons

The Cincinnati Bengals entered the offseason needing to re-sign cornerback Adam Jones, especially with the future of several of their corners in question. Jones got calls from a variety of teams but Pacman won’t be going anywhere because Jones and the Bengals agreed to terms on a three year deal.

Adam Jones has found a home in Cincinnati. The Bengals took a shot on him in 2010 back when nobody wanted him and he has since rewarded the Bengals for giving a chance that some might argue that he did not deserve. Since 2010, Jones has 10 interceptions, including three in each of the past three seasons. Cincinnati likes Jones and Jones likes Cincinnati so it’s not a surprise that the two sides worked something out.

Jones added 62 tackles in 2015 while also serving as a kick returner and punt returner. In his career, he has 14 interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, and 424 combined tackles in 114 games. The Bengals have had to rely on him more than they had hoped due to injuries, but Jones has done quite well and has certainly proven that he is a capable starting corner in the NFL.
