Have the Baltimore Ravens emerged as the favorites to sign wide receiver Mike Wallace?
Entering the offseason, the Baltimore Ravens have been looking to upgrade their offense. Specifically, they’ve been looking to add speed to their wide receiving corps. Even assuming that 2015 first round pick Breshad Perriman is healthy, the Ravens don’t have many fast options at receiver. With that in mind, Baltimore has reportedly expressed serious interest in signing former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Mike Wallace.
Ravens clearing cap space... told they'd like to add a tight end. And looking seriously at Mike Wallace too. If the price is right.

As Kinkhabwala hints, the Ravens have a history of refusing to overpay free agents. Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome knows the price that he wants to pay for each player. If players aren’t willing to match that, Newsome tends to move on quickly to other options. At the right price, Wallace could be an excellent addition to the Ravens.

Mike Wallace would give the Ravens insurance in case Perriman isn’t healthy. He would also allow them to put Steve Smith Sr. in the slot where he has been a dangerous weapon for most of his career.
Wallace had 473 receiving yards on 39 receptions with two touchdowns in 16 games (12 starts) for the Vikings in 2015. He could be a cheap option for the Ravens as they look to add speed to their offense.
