The Jets and Dolphins have both expressed interested in free agent running back Matt Forte.

One of the top running backs on the free-agent market is former Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte. Multiple teams have expressed some interest in him and that includes both the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins. Both teams are looking for a new running back and Forte seems like a good fit for both teams.

Forte is drawing quite a bit of interest despite being 30 years old, and will turn 31 in December. Despite his age, he has been productive over the years. Forte missed three games last season but still finished with 898 rushing yards. While that is the lowest of his career, it is still an impressive total.

Forte has at least 1,000 rushing yards in five of his eight seasons but he was within three rushing yards of making it six out of eight. Matt Forte has 8,602 career rushing yards and 4,116 career receiving yards.

Forte would be a great fit on the Jets or the Dolphins. Both teams have other options so that Forte doesn’t have to be the primary back. That would allow them to rest Forte should the need arise. Forte is also a versatile back, something that both teams are looking to add. His age is a concern, but he shows no signs of slowing down yet.
