2016 NBA Mock Draft: Can Ben Simmons save Sixers?

With the NCAA season entering its final month, there is limited time remaining to catch a glimpse of some of the sport’s most intriguing and exciting NBA prospects. Still, conference tournaments and March Madness provide an action packed slate that should allow those prospects opportunities to shine and improve their draft stock. While LSU’s Ben Simmons and Duke’s Brandon Ingram appear to have separated themselves in the top tier of the class, there is plenty of room for movement within the lottery and beyond.

This marks the second week of NBA mock drafts brought to you by Austin Peters and myself from over at Upside & Motor, a member of the HP Basketball Network. We’ll be alternating every week, so this dual-headed attack should provide you some different perspectives about each individual team’s needs. In addition, with the NBA standings constantly in flux, there should be plenty of movement each week that will have trickle-down effects throughout the first round. For this iteration of the mock draft, I’ve used the current NBA standings (as of March 9, 2016) to determine the draft order.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the first round of the 2016 draft to see how each selection helps the teams fill out their needs and develop their roster for future success.
