DeMar DeRozan finished off an end-to-end drive with a two-handed slam dunk.

Heading into free agency, expect DeMar DeRozan to be one of the biggest names on the market. Every season since he got drafted by the Toronto Raptors in 2009, he has improved his game. Him and Kyle Lowry currently make up the best backcourt in the East, meaning that no matter who he signs with, DeRozan is due to get the max deal.

Raptors fans will want him to stay, and it’s because of plays like this where he drives from one end to the other and makes it look easy:

The more Atlanta Hawks defenders converged on him, the more he relished the opportunity which made his two-handed slam at the end all the more impressive. While DeRozan’s shooting hasn’t been the best – although he’s gotten better at it this year – he makes up for it by being aggressive on the ball and drawing fouls. He’s got the kind of hard-nosed style that any ball club would want to have.

It seemed as though the race to sign DeMar would be a two-horse race between the Raptors and Lakers, but as long as he continues to play at the consistent rate that he’s at right now, expect more suitors to emerge making it harder for Toronto to keep their shooting guard.
